6-4-1 How to enter to My Account page
You can move to “My Account” page from “My account & setting” page by clicking “Review or update user information” button to review or update your user information.
6-4-2 Displayed user information
Field | Explanation |

Registered information | |
User ID | Displays your user ID issued at the time of registration. |
User type | Displays you user status, e.g. official registered user and simple registered user. |
Email address | Displays your email applied at the time of registration. You can change your email address by clicking the Change button in the right of this field. |
Password | You can change your password by clicking the Change button displayed in the right of this field. |
Language | Displays your preferred language for email or other notifications. Click the Change button in the right of the field to change your preferred language. |
Title | This field is displayed only when your preferred language is set to English. Click the Change button in the right of this field to change your title. |
Expiration Date | The expiration date of your account is automatically renewed to three years from the date of your last login each time you login. However, if you need to resubmit a document showing the condition of your disability, the expiration date is not automatically renewed. We will inform relevant user of procedure to renew the expiration date. |
Availability of Data Transmission Service for Persons with Print Disabilities | Displays “Available” if you’ve already been registered to Data Transmission Service for Persons with Print Disabilities. Displays “Not available” if you have not been registered to this service. If it displays “Not available”, “Application” button is displayed except your application for user registration is in process. If your user type is simple registered user, you can apply for this service and upgrading to official registered user by clicking the “Review or update user information” button. |
Name and address | Please click the “Change name or address” button to change your name or address. |

Date of birth | Displays your date of birth. You can’t change date of birth. |

Consent to Terms of Service for the Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Individuals | Displays your “Consent to Terms of Service for the Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Individuals”. The terms is displayed automatically when you login to the NDL search or the Mina search for the first time. For details, please see “Consent to Terms of Service for the Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Individuals”. You can display the terms and change consent to the terms in this page. |
Deregistration | You can delete your user information. |
6-4-3 To update your user information
(1) Change your email address
“New Email Address” box is displayed by clicking the Change button. Please enter new email address and click the Update button. We will send you an email containing a URL. Please access that URL to confirm your new email address. You must finish this process within 10 minutes. If the expiry time has passed, you will not be able to access this URL and renew your email address.
(2) To change your password
“Input your current password” box, “Input your new password” box, and “Input your new password (confirmation)” box are displayed by clicking the Change button in the password area. Please enter and click the Update button to activate your new password.
Password must conform to the following conditions:
- Your new password must be 8 to 20 characters long.
- Please enter your password using single-byte alphanumeric characters. Available symbols are !#&@?-=*+
- Password must contain single-byte letters and numbers.
- You can’t set the same text with your user ID as your password.
- Uppercase and lowercase letters are distinguished.
(3) To apply for the Data Transmission Service for Persons with Print Disabilities
If you have not been registered to the Data Transmission Service for Persons with Print Disabilities and have user ID of the NDL, you can apply for this service by clicking the Application button.
- After “Enter the name and address of the applicant” window is displayed, please enter your address and other user information, and upload identification documents. If you would like to change your name or address at the same time, please enter your new name and address. Regarding procedure of entering and uploading, please also see “New user registration”.
- After entering user information, please click the “Go to Confirm” button to display confirmation dialog. If there are not any problems, please click the “Submit the application” button after you confirm your application at the confirmation dialog.
- After finishing application, you will receive an email that notices your application has been accepted. Please wait until the NDL verifies your application.
- You will recieve a notification email if your application is declined because of an omission in required information or a discrepancy between your identification documents and the information you have provided. You can check the notification on the Mina Search. Please see “If your application has any problems”.
- Once confirmation process has been verified, you will be able to use the Data Transmission Service for Persons with Disabilities. We will send an email to your registered email address to notify you upon completion of this process.
(4) To change name or residential address
Please click the “Change name or address” button displayed in the Name and Address area.
- After “Enter the name and address of the applicant” is displayed, please enter your address and other user information, and upload identification documents. For procedure of entering and uploading, please also see “New user registration”.
- After entering user information, please click the “Go to Confirm” button to display confirmation dialog. If there are not any problems, please click the “Submit the application” button after you confirm your application.
- After finishing application, you will receive an email that notices your application has been accepted. Please wait until the NDL verifies your application.
- You will recieve a notification email if your application is declined because of an omission in required information or a discrepancy between your identification documents and the information you have provided. You can check the notification on the Mina Search. Please see “If your application has any problems”.
- Once confirmation process has been verified, you user information will be updated. We will send an email to your registered email address to notify you upon completion of this process.
(5) To change shipping information
Please click the “Change Shipping Information” in the shipping information area.
Please enter address and other information after “Change Shipping Information” dialog is displayed. After entering, please read click the “Go to Confirm” button. If you did not enter to the column which is "required", you are not able to click the "Go to Confirm" button.
If there are not any problems with information of your application in the “Change Shipping Information” window, please click the “Update with this information” button. Your shipping information will be changed at once.
6-4-4 Consent to Terms of Service for the Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Individuals
Terms of Service for the Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Individuals are automatically displayed when you login to the NDL search or the Mina search for the first time.
This service allows patrons to use their own devices to browse and print out via the Internet digitized materials from the NDL that are still protected by copyright but have become difficult to obtain due to being out-of-print or other reasons. For more information, please refer to the Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Individuals page.
If you would like to use this service, please read the terms to the end, and click the Agree button. If you don’t use this service, please click the Suspend button or the Do not agree button. Though you clicked the Suspend button or the Do not agree button, you can display the terms again and agree them in My Account page.
6-4-5 Notification from the National Diet Library
- You will receive a notification email if your application is declined because of an omission in required information or a discrepancy between your identification documents and the information you have provided. You can check the notification on the Mina Search.
Please login to the Mina Search and click the message displayed on the top page.
You can also check the notification by clicking the “Confirmation of notice from the National Diet Library” link in the My Account page.
6-4-6 Delete user information
You can delete your user information in the My Account page. You will not be able to use your user ID after your user information is deleted.
- Please click the Deregistration button in the Other area of the My Account page.
You cannot click the "Deregistration" button during the period when your request history of browsing and photoduplication remains. Also, you cannot click the "Deregistration" button if your Interfacility request for browsing is denied. Please complete the procedure by visiting the library or submitting an application by mail. - Only registered users of the Data Transmission Service for Persons with Print Disabilities can delete user information via the Mina Search.
- Please select reason for deregistration on the Deregistration dialog.
- You will return to the top page of the Mina Search after clicking the OK button in the “User information has been deleted” dialog.
